दृश्यता परीक्षण लक्ष्य (VTO) की जानकारी एवं उपयोगिता

1. कोहरे की शुरुआत निर्धारित करने के लिए ' विजिबिलिटी टेस्ट ऑब्जेक्ट ' का उपयोग किया जाएगा। सभी स्टेशन संचालन नियम (एस डब्ल्यू आर)में स्टेशन के दृश्यता परीक्षण ऑब्जेक्ट (वीटीओ) को परिभाषित किया जाता हैं। इसके बारे में सभी परिचालन कर्मचारियों को अवश्य पता होना चाहिये।

2- उन स्टेशनों को छोडकर, जहां स्टेशन संचालन नियमों के अंतर्गत विशेष सिगनल या सिगनल की भुजा या बत्ती या पीछे की बत्ती को दृश्यता परीक्षण लक्ष्य चिन्हित किया गया है। उसके अतिरिक्त सभी स्टेशनों पर दृश्यता परीक्षण लक्ष्य के रूप में दृश्यता परीक्षण पोस्ट लगाया जाता है।

2- दृश्यता परीक्षण पोस्ट ऐसा पोस्ट होगा जो स्टील/ लोहे/ लकडी के सलीपर का होगा उस पर काला और पीला तिरछी पदिटियां होगी जिसे रात में प्रकाशित किया जायेगा और जो स्टेशन के दोनों और स्टेशन मास्टर कार्यालय के मध्य से जहां एसएम खड़ा होता है से 180 मीटर की दूरी पर पर लगाया जाता है।

3- दृश्यता बाधित करने वाले घने कोहरे या तूफानी मौसम में या धूल भरी आंधी के समय जब दृश्यता परीक्षण लक्ष्य दिखायी न पडे तब ड्यूटी वाला स्टेशन मास्टर व्यक्तिगत तौर पर यह सुनिश्चित करेगा कि स्टेशन के सिगनल की बत्तियां जला दी गयी है और तब वह दो प्रशिक्षित आदमी, प्रत्येक दिशा में एक आदमी को जो कि फॉग सिगनलंमैन के रूप में कार्य करेंगे, फॉग सिगनल पोस्ट पर भेजेगा जो कि प्रथम रोक सिगनल से 270 मीटर की दूरी पर लगाये गये है।

4- यदि पिछले स्टेशन को लाइन क्लीयर देने के बाद स्टेशन मास्टर यह पाता है कि वह दृश्यता परीक्षण लक्ष्य देखने में असमर्थ है तो वह पटाखे लगवाने के लिये तत्काल कदम उठायेगा। ः

5- जैसे ही दृश्यता परीक्षण लक्ष्य पुन: दिखायी देने लगे, पटाखे लगवाने की उपरोक्त प्रकिया बंद की जायेगी।

6- खण्ड नियंत्रक और दोनों ओर के स्टेशन मास्टर को उपरोक्त पद्धति के चालू करने और की निरस्त करने के बारे में सूचना दी जाएगी।

7- स्टेशन मास्टर की डायरी में निम्नलिखित सूचनायें अनिवार्यत: दर्ज की जायें।

(क) वह समय जब दृश्यता परीक्षण लक्ष्य दिखायी न. पडा हो।

(ख) वह समय जब कार्यरत खण्ड नियंत्रक और दोनों सिरों के कार्यरत स्टेशन मास्टर को घना कोहरे और धुंध के मौसम के बारे में जानकारी दी गयी।

(ग) वह समय जबकि उक्त संचालन निरस्त किया गया ।

(घ) ऐसी कोई सूचना जौ आवश्यक हो।

Information and Usefulness of Visibility Test Target (VTO)

1. A 'Visibility Test Object' will be used to determine the onset of fog. Visibility Test Object (VTO) of the station is defined in all Station Working Rules (SWR). All Operating staff must be aware of this

2- Except in those stations where a special signal or signal arm or light or tail light has been marked as the visibility test target under the Station Working Rules, Additionally, visibility test posts are installed at all stations as Visibility Test Object.

3. Visibility Test Object will be a post made of steel/iron/wooden sleeper with black and yellow slanted stripes which will be illuminated at night and will be visible from both sides of the station and between the station master's office where the SM stands. It is planted at a distance of 180 meters.

4. In case of dense fog or stormy weather impairing visibility or during a dust storm when the Visibility Test Object is not visible, the Station Master on duty shall personally ensure that the signal lights of the station are lit and then he The trained man will send one man in each direction to act as fog signalman at the fog signal post which is installed at a distance of 270 meters from the first stop signal.

4- If after giving line clear to the previous station the Station Master finds that he is unable to see the visibility test target, he will take immediate steps to set off the detonators.

5- As soon as the visibility test target becomes visible again, the above process of setting detonators will be stopped.

6- The Section Controller and the Station Master on both sides will be informed about the activation and cancellation of the above method.

7- The following information must be recorded in the diary of the station master.

(a)  The time when the VTO is not visible.

(b) The time when the working Section Controller and the working Station Master at both ends were informed about the weather of dense fog and mist.

(c) the time at which the said operation was cancelled.

(d) Any such information as may be necessary.
