 राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (NDMA)

1. भारत सरकार द्वारा राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (NDMA) का गठन 2005 में किया जा चुका है। अतः यह प्राधिकरण विभिन्न विभागों / मंत्रालयों के वीच आपदा प्रबंधन की गतिविधियों का समन्वय करेगा ऐसी उम्मीद है।

2. PM इसके पदेन प्रमुख होते हैं। DM एक्ट के द्वारा इसका गठन किया गया है।

3. इसका कार्य आपदा के समय प्रभावी प्रबंधन हेतु नियम बनाना, आपदा प्रबंधन के समय सहायता एवं आवश्यक तकनिकी एवं अन्य सहायता सुझाव देना, आपदा के समय अल्प क्षति के साथ उचित तरीके से निस्तारण करना / निपटना |

4. इसका कार्य केंद्र, राज्यों एवं अन्य संस्थानों को आपदा से बचाने हेतु उपाय करना तथा उन्हें इसके लिये सतर्क एवं तैयार रखना ।

5. NDMA गृह सचिव के सम्पूर्ण पर्यवेक्षण के तहत काम करता है। रेल मंत्रालय ने अतिरिक्त सदस्य (मेक इंजीनियरिंग) को NDMA में अपने प्रतिनिधि के रूप में नामित किया है।

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)

1. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has been formed by the Government of India in 2005. Hence, it is expected that this authority will coordinate disaster management activities between various departments/ministries.

2. PM is its ex-officio head. It has been constituted by DM Act.

3. Its work is to make rules for effective management during disaster, to provide help and suggestions for necessary technical and other assistance during disaster management, to dispose of/deal with minimum damage in a proper manner during the disaster.

4. Its function is to take measures to protect the Centre, states and other institutions from disaster and to keep them alert and prepared for it.

5.  NDMA works under the overall supervision of the Home Secretary. The Ministry of Railways has nominated Additional Member (Mech Engineering) as its representative in the NDMA.
